====== FNG Guide ======
Welcome to The Cooler Server! This guide will help you set up Arma  3 and Teamspeak 3 accordingly.

Feel free to reach out to any of the TCS staff in the Discord #tech-support-and-discussion channel should you encounter issues. **However** we expecting that you have read this entire document before doing so.

==== TeamSpeak ====
Download and install the latest version of TeamSpeak3 [[https://www.teamspeak3.com/teamspeak-download.php|here]]

Once installed, select **Bookmarks** at the top of the window. Populate the following boxes according to the image below

  - **Bookmark Name**:     TCS or whatever you wish
  - **Nickname**: Your username,     This should be the same as your discord and Arma3 name.
  - **Server Nickname or Address**:     ts3.thecoolerserver.com

Once you have connected for the first time, you will be locked to the Guest Lobby. Feel free to ping @helper to get your permissions set in TeamSpeak for full access.

==== Arma 3 ====
Install Arma 3 via Steam.

In TCS, Arma 3 Expansions [[https://store.steampowered.com/app/395180/Arma_3_Apex/|Apex]] and [[https://store.steampowered.com/app/1021790/Arma_3_Contact/|Contact]] are considered required.

We also use two Creator DLCs. These are optional, and if you choose not to own them there are additional steps to install the compatibility mods.

If you do not own the two Creator DLCs you will never be able to play missions on their respective maps, and you will need to subscribe to the two mods below in the workshop.

To install the TCS Modlist, go to the Discord server's #current-modlist channel, the most recent post in the channel will contain a HTML file that can be imported into the Arma 3 launcher. Download the most recent HTML file.

Next, Launch Arma 3 via Steam. Stay at the launcher.

Select **MODS** on the left of the window, then click the **More** drop down towards the middle. Finally select **Import list of mods from a file**

Additionally, you will either need to enable the S.O.G and Global Mobilization DLCs on the DLC tab of the launcher.
  - Or, if you do not own them, enable the two mods that should have been subscribed to earlier.


From here, Press Play at the bottom left of the launcher.

Once the game has launched and you are at the main menu. Go to Multiplayer > Server Browser
There are two ways to connect to the server.
  - Find the server via the browser, you can use the filter to add "The Cooler Server" to the Host field.
  - Direct connect to "arma.thecoolerserver.com" port "2504"

The password for TCS gaming servers will be "one"

At this point you should be able to connect to the Arma server and get into the game. If you need assistance please reach out to staff in the #tech-support-and-discussion channel.
